Are you OK with a little history lesson?
"Flamin' Frank" Pedregon started it all for the Pedregon family in racing. The Pedregon family has been involved in drag racing for many years now. You are probably familiar with Cruz and Tony but it all began with their father, Frank Pedregon. Frank raced a front-engine dragster coupe and became known as "Flamin' Frank."
Frank's son, Cruz Pedregon, has made a name for himself in NHRA. He is a three-time winner of the NHRA U.S. Nationals; he was the first funny car driver in history to reach a speed of 310 miles per hour; and he is fourth overall in career Funny Car victories with 22 trips to victory circle. Cruz is definitely standing on his own merit in the NHRA circuit.
From the Chili Peppers to the Small Soldiers, Cruz Pedregon's paint schemes have provided the collectors some interesting pieces. This Action RCCA 1/24 scale diecast replica of Cruz's McDonalds paint scheme was produced in a limited run of 5,000 peices in 1995 exclusively for the members of The Racing Collectables Club Of America. This scheme features the typical McDonald's colors of yellow and red and looks fantastic on display. The detail to this piece is amazing - especially considering how long ago this mold was made.
